I'm again: I believe you don't see me usually I have a question again: Is it possible to implement an event called like OnStartSaveZip? My problem is the following: I and many of my users uses files greater than 2GB On a status caption I show the state of the zipping via the event OnStartZip. But if VCLZIP has to move the complete backup file from TempPath to the DestDir then the last backup filename will be standing on the status line. And with 2GB and an antivirus program it can take for a while. So I need an event to change my status to "Please wait, the backup will be written..." Or is there an event implemented yet and I don't see them? Greetings from germany Heiko

I will consider this.
Also, I'm not sure if this can help in your particular instance, but did you know that if your temp directory is on the same disk as your zip file destination, VCLZip will simply do a rename, which will eliminate the time for the copy?
