Kevin,
What type and level of encryption does VCLzip use?
i.e. is it DES 56 bit or is 128bit?

It's not strong encryption, it is just pkzip standard encryption.
If I can ever find the time, I plan to add the ability to "plug in" strong encryption. I don't really want to mess with the red tape (export laws) of adding strong encryption directly into VCLZip but the plan is to make it easy to plug strong encryption into VCLZip. Unfortunately every time I start to look into this, I have been sidetracked by other projects.
