I emailed you but this might be a better place to bring it up. I've got several files that open in WinZip but raise an error VCLZip. When I use the demo program they open ok but when I try to extract files I get and error to the effect that it's an unknown compression format.
I presume I have to buy Pro, correct?
Can I send you a file and verify this?
I am still working with my old Delphi 3, from what I can see Pro requires 4 or above, is that correct?
Thanks
Ernie

Ernie,
I haven't gotten your email yet, but it is fine to bring it up here.
What is the error that gets raised?
How large are the files?
Yes, Pro requires D4 or above. If you area registered user of VCLZip Lite, then Pro will only cost you $40.

In my program I just get a Zip Error warning box.
When I use the 32 bit Zipp demo program I get "Unknown Compression Method" followed by "Bad CRC" followed by "Couldn't Unzip the File".
Yes, I am a registered user (ernie at ohernie . com)

There are a couple possibilities. One is that you are compressing the files in some other format than PKZip standard format. If you are using WinRAR, then maybe you are creating the file in RAR format. The other possibility is that you are creating the files using the newer Deflate64 compression method. VCLZip does not implement this compression method, including VCLZip Pro.
