Hello,
can VCLZip v3 or v4 already be installed in Delphi 2009? Could it be a problem to install v3 in Delphi 2009 because of unicode issues?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Andreas,
No, VCLZip 3 and 4 cannot automatically be installed into Delphi 2009. Unlike previous new versions of Delphi, there are differences that will require code changes, for instance in how many bytes are written out to files when writing strings. I am currently working on this and I plan to include Unicode support at the same time. It will be a couple weeks before it is ready.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
okay. At this time I'm using v3.1 which has been a special version for me with AES encryption, you remember.
Can I upgrade to the next v4 with Delphi 2009 support without any code changes (in a couple of weeks, when it is ready)?
Thanks,
Andy

Yes. What you have is actually version 4. You will receive the upgrade for D2009 when it is available.

Is there anything new about the Delphi 2009 support? Meaning do you know when this version will be ready?

I can't be real specific quite yet but it will be very soon. I have a working version in testing right now and it includes Unicode support. Just want to be sure everything looks ok before releasing it.

I have an update on this. VCLZip 4.50 is now available to be tested by currently registered users of VCLZip 4. Check out the Announcements Board for details.
Thanks,
Kevin
