I am using 4.50 downloaded on approx Dec 31, 2008. I have just realised it was a beta version. I am zipping with password and encryption strength esPKStandard.
I have taken a fairly large backup containing something like 500 files. When I try to restore, five of those files come up with the message "Wrong password for (file name)". Those files cannot be restored singly either.
It is possible that those files were being written to at the time they were zipped.
Is this a known "issue", or something to do with the beta version?
Thanks Murray

Even though the "ThisReleaseLevel" says it is beta it is actually release. Somehow that (of all properties) ended up incorrect in the release process. No one has reported that so I had not realized that till now. I am not sure why you would be getting a "wrong password" for some files and not others. This is not a known problem. Was this archive created all at the same time, or did you add some files to an existing archive? If you added files to an existing archive, can you see any pattern, where perhaps the ones that are causing the problem were the files that were added later? How large is the archive (size, not number of files). Is it something that you can send to me, or, put somewhere that I can download it and check it out? Thanks, Kevin

The archive was created all at the same time. The archive is 265Mb (zipped). If you can let me know an email address, I will give you details on our ftp site.
Thanks Murray

Just send it to support@vclzip.com. And in your email let me know what the correct password is if that is ok.
Not sure I'll be able to tell anything or not but its possible.
Thanks!
