Sorry everyone, we realize it has seemed like we had disappeared over the last several months and we apologize for that. Fortunately priorities and funding have recently changed so that VCLZip development is back for the long haul. In the next couple of weeks we will put out version 3.1 with all up to date bug fixes. Over next next few weeks I will be updating the web site and getting version 4.0 ready for release (strong encryption).
We plan to streamline operations so that bug fixes can be distributed quickly and easily. We also promise to answer questions on this forum in a timely manner.
We would also like to hear about any suggestions everyone has about new features and capabilities you'd like to see. A new section may even be added to this forum specifically for feature and direction suggestions.
Again, sorry for our being absent for so long. VCLZip development and support had indeed suffered and almost went away for good. But rest assured, we are now here for the duration.
Thanks!!!

Do you have a possible release date for 4.0?

Don, Everything is progressing well now and we're hoping for January 12th or 13th. If things really go well, it could be even sooner. It would have been released this week, but we had to rebuild our development system last week. The hard drive started going south and replacing it turned out to be a little less straight forward than expected. As for pricing: In order to keep VCLZip viable and development ongoing, we are going with subscription pricing starting with this release. The price will not be increased, it will still be $89.99, but in order to keep receiving updates and priority support, this will now be an annual subscription. We are keeping the price low because we want small businesses and single developers to be able to easily afford VCLZip. Those who have registered VCLZip Pro within a year of the release will of course be considered to be under the plan already. Thanks! Kevin

OK. I assume that as registered customers of VCLZip Pro we will get discount off the first year?

Yes, I will make a 10% discount available to currently registered users for the first subscription purchased, probably for a restricted amount of time. Just like with the VCLZip 2 to VCLZip 3 upgrade, you'll need to supply to me the Shareit reference number or the name and/or company that you used to register VCLZip 3. Some information that will allow me to find the record of your VCLZip 3 registration.
Please don't email me with this information until after VCLZip 4 is released though.
I know this isn't quite as much of a discount as the VCLZip 3 to 4 discount was, but remember, I am trying to make this economically stable, yet affordable at the same time. I have surveyed the prices for similar components and they also have subscription pricing but they are typically much more expensive than VCLZip, especially for source code.

Sorry, we just need a few more days to tie up some loose ends. I'm waiting for some information from Shareit and we need to put together the update history, touch up the help file a little and a couple other small things. I apologize for the slight delay.
Also, a slight change to the pricing. The initial price for a VCLZip subscription will be $99 and the renewal will be $79. Those who currently have a license for VCLZip PRO will be able to purchase the renewal.
