Hi,
I've noticed that windows XP is unable to view the contents of a zip file created with VCLZip. (I can view the contents fine though, through other applications such as winzip).
Is their anything we can do about this? Is it a vclzip problem or windows xp?
Ta
Adam.

I do not seem to have this problem. XP Pro sees zip files created by WinZip as if they were directories. XP Home does not, but I don't believe that feature is part of XP Home.
Are you using XP Home or Pro?
How large is the archive(s) you are looking at? If you create an archive large enough that Zip64 formatting kicks in, I don't know that XP Pro can handle that.

Correction, I meant that "XP Pro sees zip files created by VCLZip as if they were directories and files."

Hi, I'm using Windows XP Professional. It doesn't seem to be just with my computer - but any XP Pro that I use. I'm also using VCLZIP Pro. I've placed a sample of the file at: www.jvxp.com/vclzipIt's a pretty small file, and I can view the contents with winzip, but not with windows internal viewer. Thanks & Regards Adam Hair.

I've downloaded it and will get a chance to check it out tonight.
Thanks!

I see now that the problem is that you apparently zipped these files with the StoreVolumes property set to True. This is why XP can't work with them as folders and files.
Setting StoreVolumes to True will make the archive non-PKZip format. This causes the drive information to be stored along with the path information. XP doesn't know what to do with that drive information.
